More Than Half of Messa & Associates Attorneys Named to Super Lawyers List

PHILADELPHIA (May 24, 2011) – Four Messa & Associates attorneys have been selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list as top attorneys in Pennsylvania for 2011. Less than 5 percent of the attorneys in the state are selected by Super Lawyers. Another Messa & Associates attorney was named a Pennsylvania Rising Star for 2011.

Founding partner, Joseph L. Messa, Jr. appears on the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list for the third consecutive year recognized in his primary areas of practice: medical malpractice and products liability. Mr. Messa is an AV-rated attorney (highest rating available), listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He has successfully litigated multiple serious injury cases to seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements, in medical malpractice, products liability, fire, and construction/work injury matters.

In addition to Mr. Messa, Richard J. Heleniak, Irene M. McLafferty and Lee D. Rosenfeld were recognized as Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2011. Mr. Heleniak concentrates his practice in complex personal injury cases. He has had four prior appearances on the Super Lawyers list. Ms. McLafferty has nearly 20 years of trial experience in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability and premises liability. She had previously been honored as a Pennsylvania Rising Star in 2005. Mr. Rosenfeld makes his debut as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in 2011. His primary practice area is personal injury.

Thomas N. Sweeney is a Pennsylvania Rising Star for 2011. Mr. Sweeney was also named a Rising Star in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to the list.
