In a statement, the Japanese automaker explained that an engine wire harness connected to the power control unit is at risk of wear over time which could lead to a short circuit or a fire. All current generation Prius&#8217; are included in the recall, including a plug-in variation, and the hybrid version of the C-HR manufactured until May 2018. <\/p>\n<p>Toyota will begin mailing recall notices to car owners later this month. <\/p>\n<p>There has been one reported case of a vehicle emitting smoke, but no injuries have been reported. <\/p>\n<h3>Ford Recall<\/h3>\n<p>Ford, in response to pressure from federal safety regulators, is recalling about two million F-150 pickup trucks because the seat belts have the potential to catch fire. <\/p>\n<p>The recall includes trucks manufactured from 2015 to 2018. According to Ford, mechanisms within the seat belt called pretensioners can generate excessive sparks when tightening.
