The theme of the contest is carbon monoxide safety and possible topics could include, <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Facts about CO: You cannot see it or smell it. It is an invisible killer<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>What steps you can take to protect against CO poisoning<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>How to recognize CO exposure and symptoms<\/strong>; or<\/li>\n<li><strong>How to install and test CO alarms and why they are important<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three winners from each grade will receive <strong>$500<\/strong> each! One public vote winner will receive $500 and one grand prize winner (chosen from the 10 finalists) will receive an EXTRA <strong>$1000<\/strong> dollars! The students&#8217; submissions will be posted on CPSC&#8217;s website and social media sites &#8211; feel free to vote for your favorites. <\/p>\n<h2>Who is Eligible?<\/h2>\n<p>The poster contest is open to United States residents in sixth, seventh, or eight grades. Submissions must be the work of the student only, with no assistance from family, friends, or teachers. Submitted artwork may not contain any elements that violate a third party\u2019s copyright or trademark rights. To maintain privacy, entrants should not put their name or any personal information on the poster. If there is identifying information on the poster, CPSC will remove the information before posting. Do not use CPSC\u2019s logo or seal on the poster. Children of CPSC employees are not allowed to enter. <\/p>\n<h2>How to Enter<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit the contest entry on the Web at <a href=\"www.cpsc.gov\/COcontest\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.cpsc.gov\/COcontest\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The entry must include a jpeg or pdf (no larger than 1 MB each) of both the completed Contest Submission and Parental Consent Form, and the completed poster submission on the dangers of CO in the home<\/li>\n<li>CPSC must receive entry no later than February 27, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Poster winners will be selected based on clarity of message, visual appeal, and originality. Parents\/guardians of the winners will be notified by telephone or email on or about May 1, 2015. All decisions are FINAL. <\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong> To enter a poster into the contest, a parent or guardian must submit a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.messalaw.com\/recall\/wp-content\/uploads\/poster-contest-admission-form-fillable.pdf\"><Strong>Contest Submission and Parental Consent Form<\/strong><\/a> along with your poster.<\/p>\n<h3>Deadline for Entries<\/h3>\n<p><strong>All entries must be submitted to the CPSC no later than February 27, 2015. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contest rules and regulations can be found at <a href=\"www.cpsc.gov\/COcontestRules\" target=\"_blank\"><Strong>www.cpsc.gov\/COcontestRules<\/strong><\/a>.
