An improperly installed part can potentially come in contact with the device&#8217;s circuit board, posing a dangerous electric shock hazard. <\/p>\n<h4>Information for Consumers of Recalled Cameras<\/h4>\n<p>Twelve hundred Olympus VG 170 Digital Cameras have been voluntarily recalled by Olympus America, Inc. for a potential shock hazard due to a manufacturing error. The cameras are about 4 inches long by 2.5 inches tall and come in colors white, black, or red. The model number, &#8220;VG 170,&#8221; can be found printed on the top of the camera, opposite the shutter button. The brand-name &#8220;Olympus&#8221; is found on the upper right-hand corner on the front of the camera. The cameras are equipped with 3-inch LCD screens on the back. <\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, no electric shock incidents or injuries have yet to be reported. <\/p>\n<p>Consumers are asked to immediately discontinue use of the cameras and to contact Olympus at 800-622-6372 between 9:00am and 5:30pm ET Mon-Fri for a free inspection and repair.
