Whirlpool Corporation has issued a recall of over 15,000 microwave hood combination units. There is a risk of internal arcing during use that can ignite an internal plastic component, creating a fire hazard.
\nWhirlpool issued the recall after receiving reports of incidents that included fires involving the surrounding cabinetry, reports of smoke and burning odors as well as one house fire.<\/p>\n

The affected units were sold in black, white and stainless steel from January 2014 through April 2016, ranging in price from $370 to $470. The microwaves were sold at HH Gregg, Sears, Lowes, Best Buy and other home appliance and retail stores.<\/p>\n

\"RecalledThe following is a list of the model numbers and associated serial numbers that are included in the recall. A complete list can be found on Whirlpool’s website at repair.whirlpool.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
