\"\"Hyundai and Kia are recalling over 1 million cars and Sport Utility Vehicles in the United States, Canada, and South Korea due to a potential for engine failure, increasing the vehicles’ risk for collision. <\/p>\n

The recall includes the 2013 and 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUVs and Sonata midsize cars. Recalled Kias include 2011-2014 Optimas, 2011-2013 Sportages, and 2012-2014 Sorentos. <\/p>\n

All recalled vehicles have either 2-liter or 2.4 Liter gasoline engines that were manufactured in a Hyundai engine plant in Alabama. <\/p>\n

The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration<\/a> (NHTSA) released information last Friday which outlines the failings of the engines. Debris left from manufacturing procedures can interfere with the oil cooling process, causing the engine to stall. <\/p>\n

Owners of the recalled vehicles may hear clicking or knocking from an affected engine as it accelerates. A ‘Check Engine’ light might also appear on the dash. Anyone who owns one of these vehicles and notices these problems should contact their dealers immediately. Parts will be replaced at no cost to consumers. <\/p>\n

So far, no crashes or injuries have been reported. <\/p>\n
