All recalled vehicles are fitted with 2-liter turbocharged engines. Audi, a Volkswagen luxury brand, states in documents posted Tuesday by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration<\/a> that the overheating takes place if one of two possible events occurs;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The pumps become blocked with debris from the cooling system; or<\/li>\n<li>Moisture in the pump causes an electrical short.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An Audi spokesperson stated that there have been fires reported but had no further details. <\/p>\n<p>Audi dealers will be replacing the pumps at no cost to owners. Audi&#8217;s spokesperson reported that while the redesigned pumps won&#8217;t be ready until November, dealers will be installing a new version of the current pump until the redesigns are ready. <\/p>\n<p>Audi recalled the same set of vehicles last year and dealers had to perform free software updates for owners.
