\nA CVS Health<\/strong> brand nasal spray has been voluntarily recalled by manufacturers after a “microbiological contamination” was discovered. <\/p>\n

Product Quest Manufacturing, the Florida based manufacturer of CVS Health 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist<\/em> has recalled 16,896 packages of the nasal spray, sold at many of CVS’ nearly 10,000 locations. While the company has not yet identified any incidents regarding the contaminated sinus treatment, it did warn of the possible complications the contamination could cause. <\/p>\n

“Repetitive use of a nasal spray containing a gram-negative pathogen can potentially lead to colonization and subsequent infection which can be life threatening in certain patient populations, such as those with cystic fibrosis or immuno-compromised.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Product Quest Manufacturing has urged customers to return the nasal spray to a CVS store or to immediately discard the tainted product. The recall applies to product purchased on or after October 1, 2017. Recalled nasal sprays will have an expiration date of September 2019 and the UPC code on the package will read 50428432365<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

CVS Pharmacy issued their own statement, stating, “CVS Pharmacy is committed to assuring that the products we offer are safe, work as intended, comply with regulations and satisfy customers.” <\/em><\/p>\n
