Philadelphia personal injury attorneys were recently notified of a Costco Tealight Wax Warmers recall due to fire hazards.  It is being reported that the warmers distributed by Olympic Mountain Products can burn erratically or with a high flame creating the opportunity for fire and/or burn injuries.

Over 200,000 tealight warmers were sold in the United States with an additional 23,000 sold in Canada. The Kent, Washington based company notified the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on December 30, 2014 that there have been 22 reported incidents involving erratic or high flames.  Of those 22, two incidents resulted in minor burns and one resulted in minor property damage. The Tealight Wax Warmers were sold in Costco stores across the United States and Canada  in two colors from August 2014 through October 2014 for approximately $20. On the front of the package is printed the word “Essenza” and the Costco item number, #852473, is printed on the side of the packaging.

The personal injury attorneys at Messa & Associates, P.C. recommend consumers who have purchased the product affected by this recall immediately discontinue the use of the tealight wax warmers and return them to the Costco where purchased.  Consumers are also welcome to contact Olympic Mountain Products directly via a toll free line at (855) 330-3590 or their website, www.MyEssenza.com and click on “Recall Alert Notice” anytime. Costco has said that they are also notifying their customers directly.
