Philadelphia Personal Injury Attorneys at Messa & Associates, P.C. recently learned via the Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) of a recall including a toy found in McDonald’s Corp. Happy Meals and Mighty Kid’s Meals that poses risks of choking and aspiration. The “Hello Kitty Birthday Lollipop Whistles” were distributed across the United States and Canada between October and November 2014.

The recalled product, manufactured in China, features Hello Kitty on both sides holding a lollipop and stands  3 inches high, 3 inches wide, and 1 ¾ inches deep.  Attached to the figurine is a whistle that can be removed and makes sounds when exhaling or inhaling through the mouthpiece.  The recall states that parts can detach and could potentially get caught and cause choking or aspiration.

If you or anyone you know has purchased a Happy Meal or Mighty Kid’s Meal containing the Hello Kitty Birthday Lollipop Whistles, the Philadelphia personal injury attorneys at Messa & Associates, P.C. advise you to immediately remove it from the reach of children.  McDonald’s Corp is reporting that any customers who received the recalled toy can return it to any McDonald’s restaurant to exchange for a replacement toy. Customers contact McDonald’s Corp. with any further questions at (800) 244-6227 between 7am & 7pm CT seven days a week or visit their website at www.mcdonalds.com.
