Britax B-Ready Strollers Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

01/26/2016 By Angela Leone Leave a Comment

britax strollerBritax, a global manufacturer of child safety products headquartered in Chertsey, Kentucky, recently issued a voluntary recall of around 60,000 of their B-Ready child strollers due to a choking hazard.

The strollers’ design includes an arm bar covered by foam padding. The foam padding on the bar can come off in fragments if a child bites the bar, posing a serious choking hazard. There were 117 reports of children biting bits of the padding off and five reports of children choking on those fragments.

Included in the recall are the Britax B-Ready strollers and Britax B-Ready replacement seats that were sold separately. Model numbers and manufacture dates can be found on a printed label on the stroller’s frame neither the front or back wheels. The replacement seat label can be found on the side tube, under fabric cover, above the button adjust. Model numbers and manufacture dates affected by this recall in the chart below.

Recalled strollers were sold Babies R Us, buybuy Baby, Target, and online at Amazon.com, Diapers.com, and other websites.

Recall Remedy

Consumers are urged to immediately remove the arm bar from the strollers and top seats and contact Britax for a replacement bar cover. While waiting for the replacement, consumers can use the stroller without the arm bar.
