Graco Children’s Products will be issuing a recall of over 25,000 car seats because the harness can break in a crash, failing to keep children restrained.
Defective Car Seat Doesn’t Keep Children Restrained
The seats involved in the recall are the My Ride 65 convertible seats which have been on the market since July 2014. Specifically, the recalled car seats will have a tag on the harness with the code 2014/06.
Today, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released documents explaining that agency tests discovered the problem with the webbing in the harness. Graco reported that the company would notify owners and distributers will provide replacment harnesses for free. The recall is slated to start officially on July 17, 2017.
