Messa & Associates Files Lawsuit on Behalf of the Estate of Arshia Joshi, A Promising Young Professional Tragically Killed in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Messa & Associates attorneys Joseph L. Messa and Colby T. Ciarrocca filed a lawsuit against Wesfer entities (Trucking, Freight, and Logistics), multiple Landstar entities, Nacie's Tire & Auto, Blue Gray Towing & Recovery, among other defendants, on behalf of The Estate of Arshia Joshi and her family.
After her car experienced a flat tire while traveling on I-81 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the auto and towing companies failed to provide any roadside assistance, despite advertisements for 24/7 availability, or notify police or authorities. When attempting to drive to the next exit to find help, Arshia was struck and killed by a tractor trailer. The driver had a history of unsafe driving, traffic violations, and CDL convictions and should not have been permitted to operate the vehicle. Wesfer and Landstar also have a record of ignoring regulations, corner-cutting, and law breaking. The Landstar entities' freight brokers hired Wesfer entities and had an obligation to ensure safe transit.
She was a 26-year-old woman professional with a promising future. After graduating with an Engineering Degree in India, she moved to the United States to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Computational Data Science at Purdue University where she graduated a semester early with Honors. She was just a few months into her new full-time position with Volvo America when she was tragically killed.
Her intelligence, dreams, confidence, positivity, and zeal to learn made her an inspiration to others and propelled her to succeed in all facets of her life. Her loss will forever be felt by her family and friends, alma mater, and the Volvo America community.
