Messa & Associates Files Lawsuit against Uber on Behalf of Mother and Daughter Tragically Killed
Attorneys Joseph L. Messa and Colby T. Ciarrocca of Messa & Associates have filed a lawsuit against several defendants, including Uber Technologies, Inc. and Rasier, LLC on behalf of the Estates of Celene and Rafaela Serrato, a mother and daughter who were tragically killed.
The mother and daughter were driving north on Knights Road in Bensalem, Pennsylvania when a negligent Uber driver pulled out of an adjacent apartment complex and attempted to make a left-handed turn onto Knights Road without ever checking for vehicles traveling in the southbound direction, causing an oncoming vehicle to swerve and strike our clients' minivan head-on, tragically causing the horrific deaths of our clients.
Uber has a history of endangering its passengers through injury, sexual assault, and death. Their own report covering 2017 and 2018 in the United States alone showed the company had 5,891 incidents of sexual assault, 107 deaths in crashes, and 19 people killed in physical assaults during or soon after their Uber ride. The reports from 2021 and 2022 showed similar trends with 2,717 incidents of sexual assault, 153 deaths from crashes, and 36 physical assault fatalities.
Messa & Associates fight to hold the responsible parties accountable for their negligence and to ensure justice for the grieving family and community.
