According to Action News, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health announced the closure of three Philadelphia dental offices yesterday for deficient sterilization procedures and lapses in injection safety practices. Three Trieu Family Dental Clinics have closed at the following locations;
- 437 West chew Ave
- 5427 North 5th Street
- 6536 Woodland Avenue
Thought the health department believes the risk of infection to be low, patients who received dental services from these offices between January 1, 2017 and December 7, 2018 are urged to get tested for hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and HIV. Currently, the department is not aware of any infections that have resulted from the clinics’ negligent safety procedures. The clinics are not allowed to reopen without approval from the Philadelphia Department of Health.
A special hotline has been designated for patients with questions. Anyone affected can call (215) 218-2999 Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm.
