Popular camping and outdoor supply company, Coleman®, has recalled approximately 9,000 of their CTAC Lithium-Ion flashlights due to overheating batteries.
There are three models of the flashlights included in the recall; CTAC20 (model 2000013874), CTAC40 (model 2000013873) and CTAC60 (model 2000013872). The flashlights are black, with “Coleman” printed on handle in white. Model numbers are printed in white along the upper portion of the handle. The flashlight units are 6.5 inches long.
The lithium batteries that come installed inside the flashlights are red with the “Coleman” logo again printed in white along the body of the battery.
Coleman® has received two reports of batteries overheating. In each of the incidents, the batteries caught fire and caused minor property damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
