Philadelphia personal injury attorneys report the voluntary July 15th recall of about 11,000 DaVinci brand cribs that pose entrapment, fall, and laceration hazards to babies and toddlers utilizing them.
The recall comes after ten reports of a mattress support bracket detaching. When broken, the bracket, which connects the mattress support to the crib, creates a gap and uneven sleeping support. Babies can roll into the gap and become entrapped, facing possible suffocation. The gap also poses fall hazards for smaller babies, and the broken bracket itself poses laceration or even choking hazards.
Fortunately, no injuries have yet to be reported. Consumers are urged to immediately discontinue use and find a safe and suitable place for children to sleep, such as a bassinet, play yard, or toddler bed (if the child is old enough). Consumers may contact the manufacturer (Bexco Enterptises, Inc.) for a free replacement mattress support, which includes replacement brackets, by calling (888) 673-6652 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. PT Monday through Friday. Consumers can also visit the DaVinci recall page for more information.

Hi, I’m a previous client and I have a question on recalls. My youngest grandchild is one years old this week and teething on everything including his crib. There are teeth etchings all over the crib. Yesterday he bit off a chunk of his crib. We noticed something in his mouth and upon inspection found a piece of his crib about 1/2 inch by about 1/8 th of an inch and it was pointed at the one end. We looked at the crib and at each end there is a thin piece of wood atop each end of the crib. The head and the foot of the crib.. My daughter called the company to make sure what it’s painted with isn’t toxic and to tell him her son bit a piece off of the crib. She was then informed it wasn’t their responsibility and there was nothing they could do. Is this true, or is it poorly constructed. All kids teeth on their kids. I’ve never heard of them being able to literally take a bite out of the crib. Thank you
