Cuisiniart has issued a voluntary recall of 8 Million food processors due to laceration hazards. The utensil’s riveted blade can crack over time, allowing pieces of the blade to break off into food and pose a serious laceration hazard to consumers. There have been 69 reports of consumers finding broken blad pieces in food, including 30 reports of injuries/lacerations to the mouth and teeth.
The recall involves all Cuisinart Food Processors with four rivets in the blades which were sold from July 1996 through December 2015 for between $100 and $350. Recalled models include model numbers (located on the bottom of the food processor) that begin with the following:

Cuisiniart is asking all affected consumers to immediately stop using the the food processor’s riveted blade and to contact Cuisinart for a free replacement blade. Consumers can contact Cuisinart about a replacement by calling toll-free at 877-339-2534. Consumers can also visit the Cuisinart website to view the Product Recalls page for more information.
