pick-up truck recall, car recall, recall lawyer, philadelphia lawyerGeneral Motors has issued a recall of almost 700 thousand 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pick-up trucks due to power steering defects.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the trucks can temporarily loose electric power steering assist, particularly during low-speed turning maneuvers. “If EPS [electric power steering] assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash,” they warned.

Vehicle owners can have the software updated in their vehicles free of charge through their dealership. Owners with further questions can contact Chevrolet customer service at (800)222-1020 or GMC customer service at (800)432-8782. The recall number is 17276.
