Target™ Night Lights Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

07/21/2015 By Angela Leone Leave a Comment

A few days after Philadelphia personal injury attorneys reported that a Target™-sold crib was recalled by its manufacturer for entrapment hazards, Target™ has issued its own voluntary recall of Circo Night Lights due to fire hazard.

The batteries within the battery operated night lights can overheat, causing the object to melt and potentially start a fire. Two incidents have been reported to Target™ regarding the night lights overheating, including one report of a fire that caused damage to a consumer’s furniture, wall, and electrical outlet.

About 143,000 night light units were recalled. The collection of night lights includes a pink hedgehog, a blue bird, a yellow rocket, an orange dino egg, a white soccer ball, and a green shark. Consumers are urged to discontinue use of the night light and return them to any Target™ store for a full refund. Consumers with questions can call Target™ at (800) 440-0680 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. More information can be found on the recall page of the company’s website.
