Walmart recently issued a large scale recall of 1.2 million Rival brand electric water kettles after reports that the kettles’ heating element can fail and rupture, posing serious burn and shock hazards to consumers.

Walmart Recalls Rival Brand Water Kettle after 80 Incident Reports

The massive recall was prompted by 80 incident reports that Walmart received, citing the failure of the water kettle’s heating element, following by rupture and electric shock. Walmart received seven reports of consumers being burned by the defective kettle.
